{Someone couldn't have given me a heads up that my hair looked CRAZY?? Hahaha.}
{All my little chickadees crowded in my bed. As I awkwardly try to eat my omelet while looking through all their cards. And yes -- Jane is completely fast asleep over there in the background. Poor little lamb.}
- Sophie and Ethan bring me breakfast in bed -- an omelet {made by Scott on Sophie's behalf} and No Bakes {made by Ethan who for some reason decided that the PERFECT thing to surprise me with for Mother's Day was the very thing I've been telling him all week long that he couldn't make for a snack. Hahaha.}
- Scott stayed home with Alex and Jane who have been running a fever off and on for the last couple of days.
- SOPHIE ended up staying home, too, because her knee was "hurting."
- We were late to church.
- Ethan and Grace were marginally well-behaved during sacrament meeting with only a few issues involving a wheel chair in the foyer before we went IN to the chapel.
- There were no loving Mother-Children shots taken before or after church since 3/5 of the children stayed home.
- The kids decided it would be a great idea to do whatever they wanted for the afternoon even though our official family rules are no electronics on Sunday.
- I managed to squeeze in a brief afternoon power nap before being summoned by a feverish Lover Boy who only wanted ME to hold him and take him down.
- Scott left for the airport around 4 and I decided the easiest way to get through dinner was to throw some frozen chicken nuggets in the oven.
- After an early dinner, the march to bedtime began early as well, and in the best gift of the day, everyone went up without too much complaint and they were all soundly asleep by 8:30 PM {thanks to the help of a little melatonin}.
{The Sickies -- me included. This head cold just doesn't want to go away. Boo.}
To close I'll leave you with the latest mullings on my mind:
I think I am sick of "Antique Bone."
What this means for the state of our house and my timeline for getting everything finished, I haven't yet decided. What I do know, is that I need to figure out what I want our predominate paint color on the main floor to be before I hire someone to paint the front hall and connecting walls. I've contemplated renting scaffolding and just trying to do it myself, but because I'm so short and the ceilings are so high, I think I'd still have problems cutting in at the top and I don't want to risk breaking my neck. Therefore, someone else will need to do it. And if I'm going to be forking money over for this, I'm not going to want to do it twice. So, ladies and gentleman, I think we are going back to the drawing board! When Scott comes home tomorrow, I'm hoping to have narrowed the choices down so he can put his 2 cents in as well. Although, we ALL know that I'm the one who cares more about the final color. Hahahahaha.

I do not like breakfast in bed at all! It's uncomfortable. It's my request every year that I get to sit at the table.
I hate breakfast in bed and Andrew went out of town on Mother's day too! We have so much in common ;) I love how Jane is just sleeping away in that picture of everyone on the bed. Poor little sickies. Hope everyone is better soon! And as far as a paint color, I would go with one of your lighter shades and cool tones are in ;)
Complain all you want, I'd DIE for some breakfast in bed! Or just a little more fuss over me. Mother's day is not my fave for that very reason. How do i nicely bring that up next year when I want a little more pomp and circumstance!?
