It's a shame that things spiraled out by the end of the day, because the start was rather nice. All the older kids got themselves off to school without a hitch {including Grace who was up until 11:00 last night before coming down to tell us she couldn't fall asleep because no one ever gave her melatonin at bedtime}, and I convinced the younger two we would NOT be having another electronic day by dangling the exciting prospect of a walk in the park. Haha. While I was getting the morning tidy up done, they hurriedly got dressed and ready to go and Alex even pitched in with picking up trash off the floor so I wouldn't have to sweep. :)
We drove over to my favorite trail and attempted a walk with Alex in the stroller and Jane on a scooter, but it wasn't long before Jane was tired and Alex was complaining about things "taking FOREVER!" Hahaha. So we headed back to the playground area and attempted to play, but everything was kind of wet and it was CHILLY. So we threw some rocks in the river -- which was SUPER high from all the melted snow and rain we've had -- before heading back home for lunch and getting Jane ready for school. Quite an idyllic morning! Even if I was freezing for most of the time. It was deceptively chilly, I tell ya.
I'm hoping that everyone's early-ish bedtime tonight will create a better tomorrow, but I'm not going to be holding my breath. :) Stay tuned for Sophie's turn in the Wax Museum coming up tomorrow...
{They're doing a weather unit at school, and I thought this picture was too hilariously adorable not to capture on film. "I am meteorologist JANE. I predict the weather will be SUNNY." Hahahaha.}
In case you're wondering why she looks like The Joker, it's because she attempted to put on my red lipstick after I told her not to, because it stains, while I was putting in my contacts. As you can see, it DOES stain. Hahaha. But how about that pose??
Scooter girl!
And Lover Boy. So cold that he had to keep his hands in his pocket the whole time. :)
