Sophie, Sophie, Sophie

We are two days away from Sophie's big day!  And one of my {many} to-do list items to get done before her baptism on Saturday, was to take her 8-year-old birthday pictures in order to have something on display at the service.  Of course, I've had the whole month to get on top of that project, but in true ME fashion, I'm cutting it super close!  Sophie finally got a haircut yesterday, so today after school {once she had finished watching The Amazing Race with Ethan}, I made her run upstairs so I could curl her hair and get her in her dress.  We were TOTALLY running out of daylight -- mostly because it was a super gray and overcast day -- and it was FREEZING and flurrying the whole time, but we got it done!  And I'm pretty sure it was the highlight of Sophie's day.  The girl loves to pose.  :)

The evening continued to unfurl in pleasant tones when Ethan completely saved the day by not only making dinner while I played photographer, but also coming up with the idea of what to eat, too.  We had bean bowls in case you were wondering.  So he opened a couple cans of black beans, chopped up some lettuce and other salad ingredients, shredded cheese, got out the sour cream, and then SET THE TABLE.  Serious brownie points earned over there! Hahaha.

The night was then capped off with one more awesomely unusual activity when Grace took the initiative to clean the downstairs bathroom to get ready for our company coming over tomorrow, and I was pleasantly surprised when I checked to see that she actually did a very adequate job!  Granted she was doing it as a money chore, but hey -- I'll pay ANYBODY two bucks to clean a bathroom.  Hahahaha.

Now the only pressing thing left on my list is to finally finish Sophie's baptism quilt!  I've only got the binding left, so fingers crossed I can finish it up tonight...

What a great day for both of you. And I love her white dress! I may get a new dress for myself for scarlett's baptism, as a sign of solidarity of course.
