Sleep Training Success?

So, it just may be the case that our sleep training plans have worked a little TOO well.  For the last couple of weeks, we've stuck with our plan of locking our bedroom door at night to keep Alex and Jane from wandering in at all hours and waking us up.  The first few nights were a little rocky, with one or both of them still waking up and banging on our door and requiring us to go and lay down with them in THEIR bed until they calmed down or fell back asleep, but for the last week or so, we haven't heard a peep from either one of them!  Which has been fantastic!!

However, it was NOT so fantastic to discover this morning that Alex had thrown up at some point in the night (although hopefully it was more like early morning) and had never left his room to come and get us.  :(  It was Ethan who woke me by banging on the door around 6:50 to inform me that Alex was sick and needed my help, and seeing him sitting there in bed pretty much broke my heart!  Poor little lamb!!   Luckily this stomach bug was the shortest lived of all time, because other than the evidence all over his bedding and elephant, you would never have thought he was sick today.  I obviously kept him home from preschool -- and he did actually fall asleep at naptime -- but other than that, he was running around like normal all day long and has been totally fine since he woke up.  Now it's just fingers crossed that no one else will fall prey to the bug!

  I discovered him cuddled up with one of Grace's giant stuffed dogs when I went to check on him at nap time.  It was too cute NOT to take a picture.  :)

{And on a totally random side-note, Grace and I were twinners today without even realizing it!  Hahahahaha.  When she came home from school and I realized we were wearing almost identical outfits, I made Sophie snap a picture for us.  Which is why the picture is so incredibly blurry and out of focus.  You wouldn't believe how many tries it took to get THIS one, which was the best of the bunch.  Hahahaha.}

Peace out!

i love a good sleep training success story!!

but i know exactly how you feel about the alex and puking incident. same thing happened during the early stages of henry's recent toddler bed sleep training. but it also involved out the other end as well! (tmi - gross)- felt horrible that he slept in that mess/grossness/stinkiness for who knows how long. broke.my.heart. but it was after he was passed the crying it out stage. and i never heard him cry. so hopefully like you said it was early morning.

alex, you are precious! and i'm so proud of you and jane for sleeping in your beds and letting mommy and daddy sleep thru the night!!

cheers!

yay for success!

Seeing that Henry ^ is already in a toddler bed is freaking me out. I am not looking forward to sleep training in a toddler bed. :-(
