Gems

This past weekend, we rediscovered some gems in the form of old family home videos.  Seven tapes worth of old-school video camera jewels, to be precise.  Watching the old footage and seeing how adorable and LITTLE all of these kids once were, kind of made my heart hurt.  Mostly because once our video camera battery went kaput and the world switched over to a digital operating system, I kind of stopped capturing things on tape.  Sure, I have TONS and TONS of pictures (and the blog) of the past several years, but there's something about seeing those tiny little tots in action on the screen, and hearing their cute little chipmunk voices that pulls at my heart strings and just can't be replicated in the 2-D form.  And poor little Jane and Alex are sadly under-represented in our family video world. While there's nothing I can do about that now, I certainly intend to capture more video footage moving forward into the future!

{And these pictures are totally unrelated to this post, but they're such gems in and of themselves, that I just had to post them for posterity's sake.  Hahahahaha.}
