Tuesday To-Do's-Day

I'm tired.  And I have officially lost steam for the day.  I started so strong -- but I'm pretty sure if I were to lay down right now I would fall fast asleep until morning.  BUT, I did get the majority of my list done today! Which always makes me very happy.

I made it to the grocery store first thing this morning with all but Ethan in tow, and discovered anew that grocery shopping with children is exponentially more expensive and frustrating than shopping without them.  After getting home and hurrying to put away all the perishable items at the least, I got ready for the gym and raced there with the same crew of kids only to be about 10 minutes late for the class I wanted to do.  I didn't want to be THAT person who walks in late like she owns the place, so I put together my own circuit of strength training moves and got my workout on nevertheless.  After retrieving the kids from the kids klub, we made it home just in time for lunch.

Surprisingly, once lunch was over, the older kids went right to their rooms for nap time and read quietly while I enjoyed a brief moment of peace and tranquility as I started to prep the front hall for my next paint job.  Unfortunately, Alex never fell asleep and he and Jane kept popping in and out of their rooms right around the time that I was going to start the actual painting, so that was a bit of a nuisance. The kids were done with their quiet reading time at this point, so I told them to just take the little ones into the tv room to watch something so I could just finish up my job, and what transpired next was about 3 hours straight of electronics usage.  Which may or may not have contributed to the battle zone that erupted right around the witching hour.  {And by that I mean it definitely contributed to the battle zone that erupted right around the witching hour.}

After yelling at Ethan to just get his chores done, I ran Sophie over to gymnastics only to discover that there are no classes this week.  Doh!  I guess we would have known that if Sophie hadn't missed the last 2 weeks of class.  Whoopsie.  We're kind of the worst.

Meanwhile once we were all back at home, dinner time was LITERALLY the craziest I've ever seen Ethan and Grace.  Just imagine lots more of the screaming and fighting matches that I blogged about last night, and you might be getting close to the actual scene.  Once dinner was over, Scott agreed to take the older ones to the pool even though none of the children really deserved it.  We both thought, however, that getting out of the house and wearing them out might be a good thing.  Not to mention it would leave me with a peaceful and quiet house with the little ones sleeping so that I can finally get around to the last item on my to-do list!  {I'm teaching in Relief Society this Sunday and I haven't really been able to start preparing for it yet.}  If only I could snap my fingers and have the house magically cleaned up, I'd be all set.  Tomorrow will be a busy day -- there's Book Club to get ready for in the evening and our inaugural run as DOG-SITTERS will be starting as well.  Wish me luck, people, it's about to get even crazier up in here.
