Since I never got around to blogging about our big adventure last weekend, I figured a faux flashback for this Friday was in order. Last Friday, we headed over to Indiana for the weekend to be there for my nephew Jonah's baptism. Scott's parents had come in town as well, so we were able to enjoy a fun weekend with lots of family before heading back home to start week one of summer vacation.
While we were there, we participated in a 5K color run on the Saturday morning before the baptism. Ethan has had "running a 5K" as one of his New Year's resolutions for the last few years, so he was totally stoked about the race. Initially, it was just going to be me and him with Kristin and Hannah, but come Saturday morning, Grace hopped on board as well along with Sophie and Scott. Jane came with grandma and grandpa to cheer everyone on and aside from being there a couple of hours early on accident, things looked promising enough.
The results of the race were as to be expected: Sophie made it about 3/4 of a mile before the crying, complaining and general freaking out began. We slowed to a walk but, of course, had to keep going until we were close enough to cut back over to where grandma and grandpa were wating for us. Once there, we discovered that Grace had beat us to the punch there after making it about a mile and a half on her own with Kristin and Hannah.
Grace makes a rather adorable red-head, don't ya think??
The whole motley crew. And yes, everything is still stained. :)
