It's that time of year again, folks! Although, if you were to ask Ethan, we're taking our family pictures WAY too early in the season. Hahaha. I thought they'd all be happy to pose for the annual Christmas card picture before it turns all freezing and wintry around these parts, but I guess I thought wrong! It
could be due to the fact that I sprung it on them after school today that we will be attempting our photo shoot TOMORROW, but still. I was hoping for far less weeping and wailing than I actually got.
I'm taking some family pictures for some friends of ours this weekend, and since I've been wanting to rent another lens to try out, I thought this weekend would be the perfect time to do it! And while I have the lens, I might as well knock OUR family picture out of the way as well. Right??? :) What this means for ME, however, is that I spent all afternoon at the mall trying to find "options" of things for the kids to wear that would coordinate with my inspiration pieces. I decided to base everyone's outfits off of
me {
hahahaha} and Jane's spunky little cat dress that set the stage for our color palette. And just in case anyone is wondering, Ethan does NOT approve. Hahahaha. He thinks it's weird that there are no warm colors in our mix and only cool. I told him we could rectify that with an orange tie for him, but he didn't like that suggestion any better. :)
My shopping efforts proved to be largely a bust {
which is probably for the best as far as our budget goes}, but in the end I managed to at least find a dress that Grace will willingly wear {
she does NOT like white dresses, but cream ones are totally fine} and some new church pants for Ethan and Alex, along with a new shirt for number one son {
which, in case you were wondering, he ALSO has opinions about -- "I wore plaid last year," is what he told me when I first pulled it out of the bag.}
{I still need to find a shirt that will work for Alex and a sweater that
will actually fit Grace, since that teal one is mine and WAY too big on
her. Everyone else's outfits are -- I
think -- on lockdown.}
After laying everything out and deciding what else I might need to get or exchange, I think I've finally got it all set in my mind! Now let's just hope that I end up with some ultra-cooperative children {
and weather} tomorrow around 6. Hahaha. :)
Ignore my Hostile Resting Face {HRF} and the mess that is surrounding me on the floor. :)

Love it! Your legs look AMAZING girl! We're doing pictures in 2 weeks and I am starting the hunt. I was always told by my pro photog friends that my outfit is the most important anyway - I should feel comfortable and then it will make everyone else better. :)
you look fabulous and so do the outfits. I actually LOVE Ethan's shirt. Looks like something Jacob would wear. I should probably start saving some good hand me downs. you hair is real cute too.
so cute that each of the girls have a necklace to wear! And where did you find that cute cream dress for Grace? Love it, and it matched your outfit. so happy she likes it!
Hot dang, mama! Who cares about the kids!? Look at you, mother of 5!
