After running my errands, I walked back into the house to hear Ethan yelling, "What did you do?!?!?!" Well, what Isaac did was try to help paint. After finishing up the Library/Study last week and the trim in Ethan's bedroom, I foolishly left the white paint out thinking it was safe tucked away in the corner of the library and covered with plastic wrap. It was NOT safe. Doh!
I have to admit, as much of a hassle as it was to clean up the floor and as much of a hassle as it will be to repaint that wall, my first reaction when I saw it, was actually to laugh because he looked so hilariously proud. Hahahaha. Like, I think in his mind, he really thought -- "I'm going to help mom paint. She will love it." Hahahaha. Thankfully, Ethan caught him before too much more damage was done and we were able to clean up all the white splatters all over the floor. To be honest, it could have been much, MUCH worse, seeing as to how there was an entire 5 gallon bucket of the white paint that was sitting right next to the container I was using to paint the trim.
To see how it looked BEFORE the toddler was left to his devices, we'll have to rewind to last week, when I had finished the walls and the trim in the library and finally set up the bookshelves and unboxed ALL the books. Obviously the room is not completely done -- I still need to find an area rug for the floor and eventually get some comfy reading chairs in there as well -- but it's definitely a step in the right direction and every time I walk by the room, it sparks lots and lots of joy. :)
The Before -- You can really see the difference in the trim color.
The During -- Ethan was my helper for a little bit.
The After -- I'm in love with this color.
Pictures don't do the color justice -- it's even more gorgeous in person.
Sea Serpent by Sherwin Williams, mixed up in their Emerald Matte line.
Other than that, we're slowly but surely making progress on getting things unpacked and settling in. For now, though, I'm in a race against time to finish painting all the trim and some of the walls in the the rooms upstairs before the carpet is replaced. Wish me luck! Hahaha.

I have yet to touch up the girls room from when herschel did this over MLK. toddlers are so trying.
The color is beautiful. So rich and inviting. Especially with those floors.
Beautiful color! Toddlers are . . . so many words. And some of them shan't be typed here. And then they are so cute too.
My dad left a gallon of paint out once with the lid not on tightly and my 2 year old brother tried over it and spilled paint all over the living room carpet right as they were leaving for a wedding. It's the stuff family legends are made of 😂
