Flashback Friday -- The Last Day

May 18, 2018 was a momentous day -- not only was it the last day of school for this year, but it was also the last day of our life in L-town.  While the kids were definitely excited about the former, they were a little less enthusiastic about the latter.  Which is certainly understandable.

(Did you notice the photobomber in the background?  Hahahahaha.)

While MY last day involved cleaning out our house with the help of several wonderful friends, the kids' last day was filled with fun, friends, and fiestas!  Haha.  J/K on the fiestas -- although both Sophie and Ethan spent their last evening in town with friends who wanted to have one last bash before we all went away.

(Hahahaha.  Poor little lamb was not very happy that I wouldn't let him go to the bus stop with the kids.)

I can't let the end-of-year go by without posting our superlatives, so -- without further ado -- here it goes:
{FYI -- while the pictures were taken weeks ago, the year-end interview happened tonight.}

Ethan -- 9th Grade
Favorite Thing About This Year: "Why are we doing this now?? I don't know what it is.  I don't know any of the answers to these questions!" {Said with an eye roll.}
Funnest Memory: "Funnest is not a word." "What," he said as I started to laugh, "It is NOT a word!"
Coolest Thing Learned:  "No idea." {pause} "I wouldn't say that anything is 'cool' that I learned." {pause} "Osmosis -- go with osmosis."
What You'll Miss the Most: "Friends"

Grace -- 7th Grade

What You'll Miss the Most: My friend Hank.  And my teachers.

 Miss Becky and Miss Jess were WONDERFUL with Isaac this year!

 (I think they genuinely got a real kick out of him.)

 (End of Year school picnic at the park.)

 Isaac and the only friend I ever heard him talk about from school -- Hank.

(Kona Ice is always a hit!)

And that's a wrap!  One last memorable thing about the last day of school, was me needing to run over to the school THREE different times that day -- first to pick up all their various medications from the nurse's office, then to head back over with Jane's inhaler, and finally to take Jane home EARLY because her asthma was really bad and she couldn't stop coughing.  So that was kind of an exciting way to finish out our experience at the elementary school.  Haha.

To close, I'm just going to sneak in some pictures from our last day at church before moving.  Grace and some of her gaggle of Beehive friends wanted to take some photos of their last time all together.  We're sure going to miss these fun girls!  It's so nice that in this day and age of technology, Grace can still stay in touch with the ease of FaceTime.  Or texting.  Or SnapChat.  Etc.  ;)

And that's a wrap! Here's to the beginning of summer.
