Tonight was magical! Even if it is ending in a late night for the little ones and some emotional breakdowns from Jane and Isaac. Hahaha. My mom came in town yesterday afternoon and has been non-stop, on-the-go, fun-fun-fun for all of us! We've already hit up the shaved ice stand, been to multiple stores, and Alex and Jane even got Granny Nanny to take them to see Captain Underpants this morning in the theater. Tonight, Granny had one more fun trick up her sleeve to help us finish off the day. An outdoor movie night complete with a hot dog cookout and s'mores was the order of the evening!
Jane was Granny's dinner helper.
After firing up the grill, we dragged a couple of mattresses out to the back deck and set up camp with pillows and blankets while Ethan set up their "new" {from the curb across the street} TV outside, connected to a laptop so we could play music while we eating and playing in the backyard. It was a party! Isaac was LOVING the music and couldn't stop dancing. :)
Time for a dance party!
After eating our hot dogs and toasting our s'mores, we waited until the sun started to go down a bit before starting up tonight's movie -- The Amazing Spiderman! It was still a bit hard to see the screen, so we ended up coming inside to start the movie, and then switched to back outside once it was a little darker. The kids had so much fun. It was a blast! They kept asking if we can do this every night. Hahaha. The only real downfall of the evening is that Isaac took a 3 1/2 hour nap this afternoon and won't go to bed. Doh! I tried putting him down over an hour ago, but he was screaming and crying and freaking out for so long that I ended up letting Grace go and rescue him once the movie was over. After reading Book of Mormon, we sent everyone else up to bed except for Jane, who convinced us that she should have a sleepover with Granny Nanny.
{I love s'mores.}

It really was a night to remember! They'll look back and realize these were some of the best days of their lives!
