Kindergarten Sing

The second to last day of school was the much anticipated Kindergarten Sing.  At least, I was anticipating it.  I think Alex was more like half dreading, half anticipating -- because he's not the hugest fan of being the center of attention in settings like this {even if he wasn't the ONLY one commanding all the attention} -- but I was happy to see that while he was on the stage singing with the other Kindergarteners, he looked super happy and un-self-conscious.  Winning!  Hahaha.

 The Wheels on the Bus is always a crowd pleaser.

 I resorted to bribery to get him to dress "nicely" for his "graduation."  After a lot of tears and negotiating, he agreed to the plaid shirt and jeans in exchange for a Happy Meal from McDonald's.  He still wasn't happy about dressing up, but by the time he was off to school he recognized that I had already kept my end of the bargain, so he had better keep his, too.  Hahaha.

 {The people on the bus go up and down...}

After the performance, I was let off the hook for an outdoor picnic by the pouring down rain -- which was a really good thing considering I had totally forgotten to pack anything for the event.  Whoopsie!  Instead, Alex led the way to his classroom, to show me a sculpture he had created and painted that week {which he chucked in the garbage on the way out -- classic Alex move} and we were able to take home all his papers and nametag and clean out his cubby.  And just like that, he waved goodbye to Kindergarten and said hello to 1st Grade.  :)

 He's so cute.  😍

 I'm not exactly sure what his sculpture was supposed to be.

"My berry favorite thing in Kindergarten was Math."
