I Believe

This weekend was the General Conference of our church -- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  After listening to the addresses this Saturday and Sunday, and to those at the Women's Session LAST Saturday, I feel strongly that I need to stand up for Marriage and Family.  So that's what I'm going to do.

I believe in marriage.  I believe in family.  I believe in love.  And I believe that even though life is not always fair, everything will even out in the end.  I am painfully aware that happy marriages and happy families are not a reality for everyone.  BUT.  I believe in the ideal.  A man and a woman, united in marriage, covenanting with God that they will love and care for each other and their children, will provide the best possible setting for those children when they arrive.  And families that are built on the principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities, are far more likely to be happy, whole, and strong.

The end of this month will mark the 13th anniversary of the beginning of our marriage and family.  I am so grateful to be married to Scott.  He helps me to be the best version of myself and I love him.  I am thankful to know that we can be together forever, and that our children will be right there with us.  All 6 of them.  :)
