Okay! So I didn't get around to posting last night because I was too tired, but a large part of our day yesterday (and for parts of this morning) was devoted to getting some file folder activities ready for General Conference this weekend. The countdown is ON, and I am so excited. I've found a few different kid activities this year that I'm hoping will get the kids excited, too, and maybe even quiet for parts of the sessions so that I can actually hear and enjoy it this Saturday and Sunday. :) Ethan was my helper extraordinaire and went above and beyond with his coloring, cutting, and laminating to make my file folder dreams come true. Hahaha. What can I say? The boy LOVES a project. Kind of like me. :) {Sidenote: "Enjoy conference?" was Ethan's quote when I explained that I was making a couple of extra file folders for some friends I visit teach, so that hopefully their little ones will be entertained for a bit so that they could enjoy General Conference. Hahaha. Oh Ethan. When I responded with a "YES. I enjoy Conference, don't you?" He begrudgingly supplied a "kind of." Hahahaha.}
I printed these paper doll chain pictures several years ago from a Conference Packet I googled. Unfortunately, I can't find an active link ANYWHERE anymore. I'm glad I kept blank copies in my bucket of Conference stuff. I colored these copies in with markers to create a new "Match Up" file folder game.
{Link: https://katiesblogness.wordpress.com/2012/03/18/general-conferece-part-1/ -- this page has downloads for a paper doll activity for each apostle. Ethan printed them on cardstock, colored them all in, cut stuff out, laminated them, cut stuff out again, and assembled into file folders and envelopes to keep everything all together.}
Along with our prep work this morning, we enjoyed a GORGEOUS spring break day at the park with some friends playing kickball and picnic-ing, and then the fun was extended for Grace when one of those friends came home with us to play for the rest of the day. They had quite the time together and I think Grace may have found her match when it comes to reveling in ridiculous acts. You know, like standing at the bottom of our driveway for an hour and "doing cheers" for cars and people passing by. Hahaha.
Anyway, the week is winding down, and thankfully Scott is able to take tomorrow off to have some Spring Break fun as well. Until next time, goodnight!
