His big day finally came!!!! Hahahaha. Alex has literally been asking for WEEKS {maybe even months} when it was going to be his birthday. So, it shouldn't have been all that surprising that he was ready to party as soon as he woke up this morning. Haha. Once I realized it was beyond his capacity to wait until the end of the day to celebrate {not to mention it would be a lot harder to get him off to bed shortly after the party was over}, we made a quick change of plans and decided to have cake and presents mid-day. Luckily, Scott was working from home today and was able to coincide his "lunch break" with our superhero's shining moment. :)
The requested cake this year was a "Captain America shield," and I have to say it was a hit! Vanilla cake and frosting was what he wanted, and that's what he got -- along with some red sugar crystals and blue dye, that is. Hahahaha. The kids excitedly wrapped all his presents this morning {in Avengers wrapping paper -- which Alex was SUPER stoked about} while I made the cake, and then after I made everyone eat something real for lunch, we started our little party. To say he was in heaven, is an understatement. :) It's late and I'm tired, so for tonight I'll leave you with a photo essay of his BEST. DAY. EVER!!!!!
