Forget about Christmas! Back to school supply shopping is where it's at for THIS crew. Hahahaha. I kid you not, they begged me all of last week to take them to Walmart for their school supplies until I finally caved. On Thursday afternoon, I took the whole troop with me, while knocking out an oil change for the car at the same time. Winning! Hahaha
I will say that this was the easiest and smoothest back to school shopping trip we've ever experienced. Partially because we had 3 separate buggies -- one for Ethan doing his own thing, one for Grace and Sophie to get their shop on, and one for the Tweedles -- but also because we beat the "Tax-free holiday" rush by going the evening before it started. And I have to say, the opportunity cost of paying sales tax for all our items was worth not having to deal with hordes of people doing their shopping at the same time. As it was, we were pretty much the only people in the back to school aisles that day. It was awesome.
Sophie was excited to enter the brave new world of personal hygiene and grooming when I let her pick out some deodorant for the new school year. :)
Meanwhile this one was just happy for some snacks and superhero themed pencils and stickers.
Organizing the loot at home. Always one of the funnest parts of the experience. :)
Now that the school supplies are taken care of, as well as a little bit of clothes shopping for the first day, the kids are all pretty much ready to go! Only 9 more days left. And yes -- I am counting down. Hahahaha.

oh I do love back to school shopping. It must be in our genes or something. Great idea to give everyone a buggy! And I noticed that deodorant aisle and wondered who was moving up in the personal hygiene ranks ;) ANd I totally agree, tax free is definitely not worth the crowds!!
This brought back memories for me. We didn't have a Walmart close by so we would go to Mallgreen. Once you were old enough, you would fill out everyone's back to school info cards and all I would have to do was SIGN!
