This week was supposed to be our Disney World vacation week. However, since we decided to be responsible and "grown-up," we agreed that utilizing deficit spending to finance the trip would not be the right move on our part. {And -- technically speaking -- Sophie didn't quite make it to 3000 pages, and that was part of the deal to go, anyway.} We had thought about doing a beach trip instead, but in the end figured it wouldn't be that much cheaper, and we'd still have to drive pretty far to get to one.
Our solution? A week long stay-cation! Scott had already blocked this week off for vacation purposes at work, and we thought it would probably be just as fun {if not more so} to stay home and play, so that's what we're going to do! :)
Yesterday was Day 1 of "Family Stay-cation Week 2014," and we let the kids have a freebie day of no chores, all the electronics they wanted, pool time, and a bag of chips thrown in the mix as well. Hahaha. Scott also took Ethan to a driving range in the morning and we fit in some Settlers of Catan in the afternoon. All in all, it was the perfect kick-off to a super awesome week! Stay tuned and follow along as the week unfurls. :)
{For the record, I've won the last 3 games in a row. Although, for accuracy's sake, I must also add that prior to my wins I encountered a VERY long losing streak. Hahaha.}
