Reading "her" scripture for Scripture Time.
This month it's Jane's turn to choose the scripture for Scripture Time. If you'll recall, we're trying to focus on the gospel principles listed in the Family Proclamation, so for July, we're talking Repentance. {We took a brief hiatus last month, because Ethan wanted to choose the same scripture they were using in Primary, and since it was June and his birthday month, I realized it REALLY wasn't worth a fight.}
Technically, I found the verse for Jane to use, but she has been so excited to use her newly developing reading skills to actually read {with help, of course} the scripture each day.
When asked what her favorite thing about this scripture is, she said, "Nothing." So, I guess it's a good thing we're spending a whole month covering it! Hahaha.O ye house of Israel whom I have spared, how oft will I gather you as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, if ye will repent and return unto me with full purpose of heart. (3 Nephi 10:6)
{Hymn for this month's Scripture Time is "Redeemer of Israel," or the Uptown Branch anthem as I like to call it. Back in the day, when I was growing up, I was the Branch pianist at church. Let's just say that I played this hymn so often that I'm not the only one who associates it with the Uptown Branch. :) }
