When Muffy Came to Visit

I am so proud of my little sister Laura!  Last week she came to town to collect an award for being an outstanding teacher in her field of distance learning.  She had jokingly referred to the banquet she was going to as the "Teacher Grammies" leading up to the big ceremony, but little did we know that it was actually a pretty big deal -- she was sitting at a table with people from NASA for pete's sake!  She won not one, not two, but THREE different awards for the work she's done this year teaching at the Open High School of Utah.  Way to go, Muffy!

After mixing and mingling with other teachers and being put up for the night in a sweet hotel by her organization, she came back to our house to spend the rest of her week with US.  And we had so much fun!  From sonic trips with the kids to making a music video, Laura made many strides during the course of the week towards winning the coveted title of "favorite Aunt" amongst my children.  Hahahaha.  Having her here made me realize once again how much I miss my family and wished we could all live in the same place.  And having to say goodbye at the end of the week made me realize all over again that THAT will probably never happen.  Boo hoo.   :(

We had fun while it lasted, though, and that is all that matters for now.  Until next time, Muffy -- we miss you!!!

Going for a Sonic Blast:

Ignore my glasses and Sophie's awkward face...

Making some memories:

{Music video directed by Muffy; starring Ethan, Grace, Sophie, and Jane -- you have to check out the original music video that they are trying to recreate.  It makes it that much funnier to watch. And this song IS the soundtrack of our lives these days.}

And time to say goodbye:

Jane allowed Laura to dress her on her last day in a "real" outfit and also allowed her to do her hair.  This NEVER happens...

{All week long Jane kept telling me -- "her is not Muffy!  her is Laura!"  Hahahaha.}

{It was wacky hat day in case you were wondering.  And yes, that IS what Ethan is like almost every morning before school.  Hahahaha.}
