18 Years and Counting

I can't NOT blog on such a momentous day, right??  Hahaha.  This year's anniversary was possibly the most unique yet.  Although, now that I stop and really think about it, it actually wasn't all that different from most years as far as celebrating goes!  For us, it's always been either a go big or a go home mentality when it comes to celebrating our big day.  Most years we've actually just stayed home -- and this year was no exception.  :)

Grace and Sophie really wanted to knock things out of the park for us, though, so they went all out to add some flair to our evening at home.  They've been talking all week about making a cake for us and I have to say, they're really good at the whole decorating thing!  (Both with cakes AND party decorations.)  After making the cake, they set up a table for two in our kitchen, complete with roses (from our garden) and some other thrown together centerpiece items, along with a picture bunting strung across the kitchen window.  It was really quite sweet.

They didn't go so far as volunteering to make us a special meal, but I was totally fine with ordering take-out for me and Scott and pizza for the kids.  All in all, it was a lovely way to end the day.

And now, to close things out on this 18th Anniversary post, I'll leave you with a favorite memory from each of our 18 years of marriage:

2002 -- Our wedding, obvis

2003 -- Halloween with baby Ethan as a pumpkin

2004 -- Christmas with a brand-new baby (Grace)

2005 -- My brother Freddie living with us for a month before going into the MTC

2006 -- Scott quitting his job (that he hated) to go back to school and get his MBA

2007 -- Sophie finally sleeping through the night

2008 -- Buying our first house

2009 -- Watching the Wizards of Waverly Place movie with the fam the day after Jane was born

2010 -- Announcing I was pregnant with Alex on Christmas morning

2011 -- Ethan's baptism

2012 -- My first half-marathon

2013 -- Paradise Ice

2014 -- Cancun with Scott for our belated 10th anniversary trip

2015 -- My whole pregnancy with Isaac

2016 -- First big road trip out west

2017 -- Bar Harbor, Maine

2018 -- Moving here

2019 -- The whole holiday season was a high key banger

2020 -- Quarantine

And that's a wrap!  18 years down, eternity to go...

I was scrolling through this on my couch while my kids watch Little Einsteins, and my girls happened to glance over while I was looking at the picture of baby Jane, and both girls flipped out over the cute baby on the computer. Even though she's not a baby anymore. I tried to explain, but whatever. You take amazing photos.
