{While waiting at the doctor's office the other evening, I kept jokingly calling the girls my sherpa triplets because they were all wearing their new sherpas that they begged me for at Sam's club.}
In happier times, however, we did a mini celebration of Grace's birthday last Thursday. {Although, it wasn't as celebratory as I would have liked since I was feeling sicker by the end of the day, and I never got around to making a cake.} Hopefully, her breakfast of champions (aka leftover Halloween candy) and the photo buntings I created to hang in her honor (per her request), were enough to make her feel special on her day. And I'm sure going out to eat at Panera for her birthday dinner didn't hurt either. ;)
Birthday Morning Progression of Pictures
Hahahahaha. That's my girl.
It made me happy to see that my execution of her idea matched up with her expectations. :)
(I had enough pictures leftover to create one more picture bunting in the dining room/piano room doorway, but I never got around to taking a picture.)
I love it when my kids request birthday meals that I don't have to make. Hahahaha. Especially this time around, since I was feeling sicker and sicker as the day went on.
{The next day is when I ended up going to urgent care because I felt so miserable. And that's when I discovered I had bronchitis. Ain't nobody got time for that!}
This next series of pictures serves two purposes: 1.) To document this silly goose (Isaac looks so hilarious and adorable in Jane's "costume" that I couldn't NOT take some pictures), and 2.) You can REALLY get a feel for how much this kid was in need of a haircut, by scrolling through these three photos.
I've been telling Isaac for weeks now that once he's 3, I'm going to give him a "big boy haircut." His birthday isn't until Saturday, but this afternoon it seemed as though his hair length had reached critical mass. His "bangs" have been hanging in his eyes for a week or so now, and the poor kid needs to be able to see! So, when I asked him if he wanted a haircut and he said yes, I figured I should strike while the iron was hot.
The Transformation
Before...
During...
After.
{How much does he look like Alex???}
{Speaking of Alex -- how awesome is this "King Tut" hat he made in school today??? Hahahaha.}
I know this is a totally random assortment of pictures and anecdotes for tonight's update, but that's kind of how life has been rolling lately. Plus, it's hard to be a true documentarian of our family life when I'm not feeling well and I'm taking care of sick kids. #TruthBomb. Thankfully, I'm on the mend, and the girls should be good in a couple of days as well -- just in time for Isaac's birthday this weekend! He's been requesting that we go to the trampoline park for his birthday since July, so I think he'll be pretty happy when we finally get to go and jump with friends this Saturday. (Fingers crossed that none of the boys get sick before then!!!)
Until next time...
