Family is the Funnest

{Here's Ethan mentally rolling his eyes and saying, "funnest isn't a word, mom."}

For the past 10 days, we've been blessed with the presence of my brother, Freddie (aka Uncle DoDo)!  Bless his little heart, because for the past 10 days we've also been kind of a mess up in here.  Womp womp.  Since Freddie had some vacation days left to use (and he's waiting on his house to be finished so he can move in), he used Isaac's birthday as the perfect excuse to come and pay us a visit in our new hometown.  What we weren't planning for, however, was the bulk of his time here being overshadowed by sick and cranky kids.  Boooo!

Thankfully, everyone was feeling better in time for Isaac's birthday on Saturday and the kids were able to jump to their hearts' content at the trampoline park in the morning.  Isaac was in heaven having so much fun with friends and family for his big day!

(Grandma sent him this awesome Paw Patrol police cruiser for his birthday and he LOVED it.)

 (And Grace was excited to get a Papi package in the mail for HER birthday.)

{Saturday was not only Isaac's birthday, but it was also Grace's very first church dance now that she's 14!  She and Gianna obviously had to dress up for the occasion and decided that matching was the only way to go.  Hahaha.}

{And in the bizarre continuing saga of Grace's list of allergies, we discovered yesterday morning that Grace is allergic to yet another antibiotic.  While Sophie and Jane had strep throat last week, Grace ended up having a sinus infection that kept her home most of the week.  Since we already know she's allergic to penicillin (and we discovered she's allergic to bactrim last month), the doctor prescribed Cefdinir for her, but unfortunately, that ended up being a strike out as well.  The reaction and hives came on a lot quicker this time around and seems to be lingering a lot longer in her system than it has with the others, but hopefully her itchiness and discomfort will go away soon.}

(She has really enjoyed wearing this surgical mask that she got at urgent care last night.)

As for the rest of the last week and a half, Freddie has been my super helper extraordinaire, completing such task as -- installing ceiling fans that we've had in boxes since this summer, cleaning out and organizing our garage, unpacking the last of the stuff from our move 6 months ago, and playing lots of games and doing puzzles with the kids.  He's pretty much the best brother/uncle ever.   I'm so thankful for family!  I don't know what I'd do without them.  :)

 (Seriously -- he's the best!  He broke down all the boxes hanging around the garage and throughout the house and found a local recycling place for us to take them.)

 (Our Thanks-giving Turkey is back!)

(We went out for pizza for Freddie's last night here.)

{Apparently, most people who saw Freddie at church on Sunday thought he was Scott's brother and not mine.  I guess our family resemblance isn't as strong as I thought it was.  Hahahaha.}

And that's a wrap!  we're all so sad to see Freddie go back home tomorrow.  The good thing, though, is that family is forever.
