Sophie has reached a birthday milestone -- the big 1-0. It's double digits from here on out! :) We kicked her birthday celebration off this morning with a surprise breakfast treat of powdered donuts, and ended the day with her requested birthday dinner of spaghetti, followed by some Oreos and then a super fun Activity Days "Fear Factor" activity at the church.

That hair though! Hahaha. Poor little sixth-born -- he's looking decidedly homeless these days.

Meet Alex's newest obsession -- the 2x2x2 Rubik's cube. Not that he can solve it on his own, but he certainly WANTS to.

We'll be doing Sophie's "real" celebration on Saturday -- with cake, presents, etc. -- but I still wanted to try and make her actual birthday DAY be as lovely as possible. And I think it was! Special thanks goes to Alex for helping me pick out a sparkly lip gloss for her at the store this morning for a token gift, and a special thanks goes to Grace for giving her a makeover this afternoon, so that she'd look real sassy for her activity tonight. Hahahaha. She caked a TON of make up on her, but since it wasn't her usual Jane-style-goth-look, I just let it be.

One last "surprise" I had for her when she came home from school today was a newly decorated mantle paying homage to the birthday girl. It wasn't much, but I wanted her to feel special and know that I love her, and I think it really tickled her fancy. Even if she did think the little kid picture I chose to put in a frame was terrible and that she looked really weird in it. Hahaha. As if! She was the cutest little munchkin ever and I never want to forget it. :)

Seriously, though. Cutest little munchkin with the voice to match!

And turning into such a lovely young lady.
Sophie certainly brings a sparkle and pizazz to the family that we would sorely miss if she weren't here. She is bright, bubbly, enthusiastic, and kind-hearted. We are lucky to have her in our crew. ;)

Oh those faces.

Happy Birthday to our favorite 10 year old!
