Scott has been out of town for 6 of the last 10 days -- Monday through Wednesday of last week, and then Sunday night through late last night of THIS week. Thankfully, he's done traveling for the duration of this pregnancy and then some. Double thankfully, he doesn't typically have to travel all that much for work. This week's trip was out to BYU for a recruiting trip and I have to say I think we were ALL a little jealous! Because who doesn't love BYU in the fall?? Or anytime for that matter. :)
Scott made everyone's day by coming back bearing gifts from the BYU Store. {Formerly the BYU Bookstore -- which for the record, I think is a really lame and unnecessary name change.} Each kid got a new BYU shirt and one other gift. {Although, since Scott was running out of time and had to book it to the airport, I ended up picking up the extra gift for Sophie, Jane, and Alex at Barnes & Noble this afternoon. Hahahaha. Ethan and Grace, meanwhile, got BYU iPod cases before Scott had to jet.}
Along with gifts for the kids, Scott brought back everyone's favorite chocolate covered cinnamon bears from the candy counter at the BYU Store. I know it sounds like a gross combination, but they are SOOOO good! Scott had laid out the shirts for the kids this morning before he left for work, and doled out the rest of the stuff when he got home from this evening. Everything was a hit! In addition to the iPod cases for the older two, Sophie got a book light -- you know, to help with reading at night since Grace won't let her put the lamp on; Jane got an owl coloring book; and Alex got a DC Super Friends color/sticker book that he was SUPER stoked about it. :)
Alex stuck this BYU barcode on Elephant and called it his shirt. Hahahaha.
Even though everything went as smoothly as possible while Scott was gone {total tender mercies, pretty much every night at bedtime}, I think we can ALL say with enthusiasm that we're so glad when dad is home. :)
The four younger ones all wore their new BYU shirts to school today. They were quite pleased with the options Scott picked out. And I have to say -- Scott totally nailed "the look" for each of the kids. :)

what a great dad scott is. i was gonna say he nailed each cute shirt for the kids too. this post made me realize i totally take for granted that BYU is in my background. i need to plan a trip there asap!!
Byustore? Byustore? That is completely unnecessary and lame and I refuse to use it. Were people getting confused? I bet this is another one of roger Reynolds bright ideas.
Forgive me for what I said about roger reynolds. He died of cancer in 2013. I'm a jerk.
