After he casually strolled in with his hands in his pockets, Alex and his class of 3's started the program off with a rendition of "Go Tell it On the Mountain" that was so off key and loudly shouted that it was almost unrecognizable. Hahahaha. It was hilarious. Even more hilarious was Alex, who was so transfixed by their broadcast on the big screen behind them, that he stood bent over and neck craned the entire time, watching the performance along with the rest of the crowd. The entire time! Hahahaha. They filed slowly out after their second song of "Twinkle, Twinkle Christmas Star," and went back to their classroom to change into their angel costumes for the Christmas Pageant that was to come.
He was killing me with the hands in the pockets. Hahahaha.
There he is -- bottom right, staring up at himself on screen. Hahaha.
Cute little face. :) Heading off to get dressed as an angel.
Once his class was assembled in their angel choir on the stage, he switched gears and became stiff-as-a-board-Alex, who didn't not move a muscle for the rest of the program. The rest of the kids were joining in the songs, complete with sign language and hand motions for most of them, while Alex stood there with his hands by his side, soberly staring out. Hahahahaha. That kid, I tell you, non-stop entertainment. :)
Apparently, he wouldn't even try ON the costume during dress rehearsal, so I guess the "real" performance was a baby step forward? Hahaha.
After the program was over, we rushed the kids through the refreshments so that I could get home and finish setting up for MY ornament exchange which I scheduled on my only available night in December. Which clearly wasn't completely available since I spaced the fact that the preschool production was the same night when I planned it! Hahaha. That about sums up my life these days. :)
It was really fun visiting with friends and exchanging ornaments, and I'm glad I've started the tradition -- even if it does make things a bit crazy during an already crazy, busy time. :) Next year, I'll have to check the calendar WAY ahead of time, and perhaps schedule the party for the beginning of the month. Anywho, it's late and I'm tired, and tomorrow is the first official day of Christmas Vacation!
My ornaments -- kooky little kats, inspired by Jane's Christmas picture dress. :)
