Thank Goodness it's Friday

I tell you what -- I've been thinking it was Friday already for almost half the week!  I don't know what exactly that says about this week, but suffice it to say I am SUPER happy it's finally the weekend.  And the fact that it's a 3 day weekend is just a little lagniappe.  ;)

Nevertheless, today is Valentine's Day and I know Alex would be upset if I didn't document his super sweet Mario "mystery box" that he created super last minute last night to hold all his valentines at his school party this afternoon.  It was kind of strange to have only ONE kid needing to create a Valentine Box this year, and even stranger to think that from here on out, I'll probably only ever have just one kid continuing the Elementary School tradition.

I made life easier for myself [and for Alex] this year by just buying his class valentines rather than making them, and after pulling a Sophie last night {i.e. starting his project right at bedtime} we were thankfully able to bring his vision to life without the shedding of any tears.  Winning!  Hahahaha.  After he taped some yellow paper to the top of a shoebox, I helped him by outlining the question mark in black and then painting the inside white.  He drew a couple of Boo ghost characters on the sides and called it good!

By all accounts, it appears that he -- and the rest of the kids -- had an enjoyable day.  The two big kids are currently at a party with friends and the little ones are finishing out their evening by having a free for all movie night -- as in they're all watching a movie upstairs right now and we're not bothering to make anyone go to bed yet.  I'd say we're all having an enjoyable evening.  Hahahahaha.  And there you have it!  Valentine's Day 2020.  Hahaha.

{And just in case anyone is wondering, the 5 Days of Valentine are still going strong.}
