New Beginnings

Last night was our ward's New Beginnings for the Young Women.  It was doubly exciting this year to have TWO of my three girls in attendance.  Sophie won't be 12 for another few weeks, but with the new changes this year to the way the program advances, she's been a full-fledged Beehive since the beginning of the month!

{There were hearts with all the Young Women's names on them, and for an activity during the program, everyone wrote things they admire or love about the other girls.  You know my Words of Affirmation loving self LOVED this idea.}

The youth theme for the year is, "If ye love me, keep my commandments," and the decorations reflected all the love.  I'm so grateful for the amazing leaders my girls have!  The love and attention they give them is a blessing.

I'm especially excited for Sophie this year.  Everywhere we've ever lived, Grace has tended to have a great, big group of girls her age to be friends with at church.  Sophie, on the other hand, seems to have always had a really small group.  This ward, however, has a TON of girls in Sophie's Beehive class and I am so thankful they are all so friendly and kind.  Sophie has really hit the jackpot with fun and spunky friends, who all get along really well.  :)

(There are at least another 2 or 3 Beehives.)

Grace was there, too, and even though she's not always super stoked to have to go to church activities, the fact that she has good friends to socialize with when she's there makes it slightly more tolerable.  ;)  The only real downfall of the evening was that we weren't able to linger longer very much after the program and I didn't get any pictures of her with her friends.  That, and the fact that all three little kids were still up and awake when we got home after the activity.  Doh!  Let's just say that we paid for that a bit this morning.   Dun dun dun.  Hahaha.

It's hard to believe that we're already almost a full month into the new year!  Stay tuned tomorrow night for a Last Friday of the Month check-in on my daunting 40 Before 40 list.   :)
