Book Fairs are My Love Language

I don't think I can even put into words how much I love a Book Fair.  When I was a kid, I remember the magic of being able to browse around and spend my own money on the latest and greatest the Scholastic book world had to offer.  As an adult, the magic is still there, as I see it through my kids' eyes.  And truth be told -- I could STILL spend hours browsing around and spending my own money on the latest and the greatest that the Book Fair has to offer.  ;)

Yesterday (being Grace's birthday), I allowed myself to be talked into heading back over to the school at the end of the day for Grace to re-visit the Fair.  Apparently she just didn't get enough when her class went during the day.  Alex tagged along -- since I forgot to send money with him last week when his class took their turn -- and the baby accompanied us for his very first taste of the fun.  Haha.  The end result was an armful of books and a house of happy campers.  We found some really great titles, and nothing makes me happier than seeing my kids so engrossed in a book, that everything else falls by the wayside.  When Jane got her hands on a new graphic novel once we got home, she had to turn the TV off because -- as she said -- it was distracting her from being able to read!  Hahahaha.

This morning was another sight to behold as Jane reached for "Ghosts" first thing after waking up and refused to get dressed or eat breakfast because she HAD to read some more.  And then, after everyone was finally up and ready for the day, Grace had all the younger ones captivated by a read aloud of "The Day the Crayons Came Home."  The final kick of the morning was seeing Sophie head off to school, with "365 Days of Wonder:  Mr. Browne's Precepts" cradled reverently to her chest.  Hahahaha.  Those kids!  It's good to know we all speak fluent Book Fair.  Hahahaha.
