As of today, we have officially experienced our first failed summer camp experiment. When I signed Alex up for a sports camp this week, I thought he'd LOVE playing soccer and basketball with other 3-5 year olds. I thought wrong. Hahahaha.
Monday was the first day of camp, and after a botched drop-off with him crying and clinging to my neck in a death grip, I agreed to stay right on the sidelines and watch the whole time {in the drizzly, drab weather} so he wouldn't be so scared. And by the end, it seemed like he was enjoying himself! But at some point the switch must have flipped, because even as we were walking to the car he started to declare that it was boring. So, there's that. Haha.
Yesterday, he didn't want to go at all, but I made him do it anyway. Which resulted in the coach bringing him over to the side -- not 20 minutes into the camp -- to tell me Alex wanted to go home.
After unsuccessfully trying to convince him to give it one more shot, we headed home and haven't looked back since. Sunk costs are irrelevant, right?? Hahahaha.
So that is that! Alex is a sports camp dropout. But at least he has really awesome superhero moves. Hahahahaha.
