The Man, The Myth, The Legend

Yesterday could quite possibly be termed the lamest Father's Day celebration of all time.  I'd like to place the blame on the kids -- after all, Scott is THEIR father -- but we all know that I'm the driving force behind any kind of effort on their part.  So really. The fault is mine.  Wah wah wah.

I'd like to think I could have pulled off something better if I had been feeling well {I had a head cold and sore throat for the last half of the week}, but in reality, being pregnant and tired were two major factors stacked against me this year.  :(  I'll just have to make up for it next year.

Perhaps the best gift of the day was the {mostly} cooperative behavior of the children during church.  After church was over, however, it was like pulling teeth to get certain children to pose for a quick picture with Scott and the rest of the kids.

After finally getting the best shot that was going to happen, I let everyone change out of their church clothes before presenting Scott with his paltry present and cutting into the "key lime pie" I made for his special day.

Old Navy came to the rescue this year with our Father's Day gift.  I decided that Scott had enough superhero shirts, and decided to override Alex's option of yet another one, and went with something different instead.  Hahaha.  Poor Scott.  He's such a good sport.  And easily the lowest-maintenance and most easily pleased person I know.

Because seriously -- this was a pathetic attempt at a Father's Day.  After opening his solitary gift, we cut into that "key lime pie" -- which was disappointment city!!! -- and that was basically that.  The rest of the day passed without memorability, and to top it all off, I basically fell asleep for the night at 8:20.

The Lion House Dessert cookbook FAILED me!!  This was NOT a Key Lime Pie.  It was more like a Lime Curd Pie.  I didn't like it at all, but everyone else ate it and thought it was fine enough.  Now I'm on the hunt to find a REAL recipe.  

And that was that!  #Father'sDay2015.  Here's to hoping Father's Day 2016 is a tad bit more memorable.  {And in a good way -- not in a someone's-in-the-hospital-again kind of way.  ;)  }  Until next time!
