The day started out a little rocky, with Grace waking up saying she was too tired to go to school, but after hearing her talk about waking up "ten times" during the night and not being able to go back to sleep, I decided to have pity on her and let her take mental health day. {Because heaven knows I would have appreciated a day off after one of my sleepless nights last week. Hahaha.} She spent the day up in her room cross-stitching and listening to Harry Potter -- except for when I dragged her with me to the gym with Alex and Jane -- and even brought her lunch of a sandwich and snacks up to her room so she wouldn't have to come down. Because everything got so pushed back with the delayed start, I ended up keeping Alex and Jane home from school, too, and they had a delightful time swinging an owl over the front hall railing for most of the morning. Grace graciously showed Jane the best technique for hanging the stuffed animal, and it seriously provided more entertainment throughout the day than you would think! Haha.
In case you're wondering -- a rubber band around the neck with some yarn tied to it is the way to go! Hahaha.
To wrap things up here, I'm hoping this week will be better than the last one! I've finally kicked that head cold, and Jane has actually stayed in her bed all night long for the last couple of nights, so things are already looking up!
{In a totally unrelated tangent, Jane was our sleeper hit in a family game of Pictionary last weekend! I was teamed up with her against Team-Scott-and-Ethan and Team-Sophie-and-Grace, and figured we'd totally be in last place (which was fine), but she shocked us all with actually being a REALLY good draw-er! Hahaha. How perfect are these pictures??}

Those are the cutest drawings by Jane! And I laughed out loud about grace teaching the best ways to hang stuffed animals. Hahahahahaha
Oh Grace, you never fail to amuse me ;) Love the pom poms. Are you gonna share a tutorial? Love Jane's drawings! Your kids are so artsy craftsy :)
