Great Minds Think Alike

While checking on the kids before going to bed the other night, I found the following set-up in Ethan's bed:

{For some reason he REALLY didn't want me putting this picture up earlier.  Hopefully he will not attempt to delete it after I publish the post.  Hahaha.}

Apparently our trip to the cousin's house inspired Ethan's decision to get a Wii-U.  And since he knows that we will not be buying one for him any time soon {if ever}, he has taken matters into his own hands and charted out what he can do to earn the money to buy one himself.  I just LOVE this kind of initiative!  Talk about a meticulous and well-charted out plan.

His chore and cleaning efforts will dovetail nicely with my need to get the house ready to sell.  Taking a page from his book, I sat down last night and {with Scott's help} planned out how we can get every area of our house ready to go by the end of the month so we can put it up for sale.  I will be pretty busy for the next little while, don't you think?

Day one was a semi-success with only the Living Room getting completely done before Alex woke up from his nap.  The Dining Room fell by the  wayside for today, but that's okay -- I've got a built in catch-up day on Wednesday.  Hahaha.  I'm planning on posting pictures of my handiwork as I go, so stay tuned for a front row seat to my efforts.  I'm hoping by that by documenting my progress as I go I'll be even more accountable to my plan.  Anything it takes, right?  Right???  Hahaha.

And now for an amusing anecdote to end this lackluster post, I present the following text exchange I with Scott this morning after finally getting the kids off to school:
ME:  Oh and ps sophie was up at some point in the early morning and ate the rest of the chocolate and watched three shows.  Hashtag what is wrong with our children?
SCOTT:  They are kids.  That is what is wrong.  But that is half disturbing and half hilarious.
ME: You should have seen her this morning laying in our bed -- she had chocolate all over her mouth yet still denied any wrong-doing.  Only after much pressing did she finally fess up.
SCOTT:  Hahahaha.

Hahahaha indeed!  With wide-eyed innocence and chocolate ALL over her mouth she tried to tell me she hadn't eaten anything.  Like I don't know what's up.  Hahahahaha.  Happy Monday everyone!

Sophie and my Chloe would get along really well! I'm impressed with the cleaning schedule and plans to get the Wii U.
