We have been spending the last couple of days in a winter wonderland over here! We got into Provo late in the evening on Christmas day with Alex falling asleep literally in the last couple of minutes before the plane landed and Jane falling asleep in the car driving to Scott's parents house. They both made the transfer to beds when we arrived, and we were able to spend the rest of the evening visiting with family and playing with the cousins. The next morning we awoke to lots and lots of snow falling and a forecast for 10 more inches before it was all over. We spent our first full day mostly hanging around the house, playing and staying cozy, but we did make one little excursion outside to go sledding at Rock Canyon Park.
Just in case you were wondering, it really helps to have snow gear in order to enjoy playing in the snow. Hahahaha. We do not have any, and even with borrowed gloves and some borrowed boots it wasn't long before certain children were freezing and freaking out and wanting to go home. Hahaha.

Fortunately our only true casualty was a shattered sled, but there were definitely some bumps and bruises along the way. Jane went down in an inner tube with Scott only once and that was enough for her. She did NOT like the snow blowing in her face and it was probably a bit fast for her as well. Ethan had a blast going up and down the hill with the boys, and Grace and Hannah commandeered the inner tube for the rest of the trip.
Sophie had fun for the first little bit, but then the cold and the wet started to seep in and she was done. She kept pulling the ski cap down over her face to keep the snow out, but I guess it didn't do a good enough job.
Snow angels were made, a group shot was attempted, and a few more runs were completed before Ethan, Sophie, and Jane were soaked through and ready to go home. All in all it was a fun and memorable outing!
Sophie refused to get in the picture because she was too cold, and Jane kept wandering away. This picture was the best of the bunch. Hahaha.
This is by far the snowiest I've ever seen Rock Canyon! It was really kind of beautiful.

Now THAT'S a White Christmas!!! Very happy looking kiddies. But, it really looks just too cold for me. I'd be home making gumbo to warm everyone up.
I hope the rest of your trip is just as fun and exciting.
these pictures are really pretty. i loved visiting yall in provo - brings back lots of memories. your kids are havin a grand ole time this vacation. i have and never would do a snow angel - way to cold to lay in snow. but i guess that's what being a kid is all about.
