My Twinsies

The older Grace gets, the more I feel like I'm raising twins! These 2 are partners in crime and have to do almost everything together. At Ethan's 3 year check-up, they BOTH got to pick out a "prize" from the doctor's office. Ethan picked out his sunglasses and Grace wanted some, too. So here's a picture of my little twinsies.

I'm including another picture -- potentially very sad for those of you who mentored over at good old Joaquin Elementary School. Joaquin is no longer. They've taken over Farrer Junior High and turned it into Farrer Elementary School. The old building was empty for a while, and the day I noticed they had bulldozed it to the ground I was shocked! It made me kind of sad for a split second. I spent a lot of time over in that building mentoring in Ms. Heileson's class -- not to mention lots of time playing on Joaquin's field and playground. Here's a shot of the now leveled site of the former Joaquin Elementary School. The orange fence kind of obscures the view, but there's really nothing to see there anymore. *sniff*

On a final note, a friend of mine who has moved wants to keep up a food and book club of sorts in a blogspot fashion (see the link on the left). So, if you're interested in contributing to it, let me know and I'll email you the username and password. For all those of you who "don't read" -- Emily and Sarah -- it is also a site to post up new recipes or things you've tried that you love. So, everyone please check it out! I think it will be lots of fun if we have a lot of contributors.

Okay, I have a really funny story about Grace, but it will have to wait for another day. I'm tired of typing. Peace out.

Joaquin is no more?!?!? I hate that! How I loved going there and mentoring my little Hispanic girl who thought I could speak Spanish, but really I couldn't.

I can't believe they tore down that school! When I was 4 we lived in Provo for a short time and I helped my uncle meet my now aunt (our families neighbor) because my brother and I would drag both of them to play with us at that school playground. And then while at BYU it was the site of many walks and visits to the swings!

no joaquin? that was how i learned to say joaquin and not jo-a-kwin. a sad day indeed. but that mrs. heileson was mean. she reprimanded me for something innocent in front of the whole class and other buddies. i should probably just get over it.

They look so cute. I love Grace's shirt..Juliette has the same one! (I miss having someone to talk Gymboree with)

As hard as I thought it would be having my kids 20 months apart (and yours are even closer) I have to say that I am so glad I did, and plan to do it again with #3 and #4. They are just such good friends, and like you said, partners in crime. I love that they have built in playmates.

I echo Natalie and Heidi's sentiments-I can't believe that there are is no more Joaquin. Your kids are too cute though. I enjoy reading the blog.
