What the Bunnysauce?

Due to the great stomach bug of spring 2017, Ethan, Grace, and Sophie all stayed home from church on Sunday {and I left Shoo Shoo in their charge as well.}  And as much as I love ALL of my children -- and I really do -- I have to say that dealing with only TWO unruly children by myself during sacrament meeting was a whole lot easier than dealing with 6.  Hahaha.  The two highlights of my day were first being able to listen to the newly returned missionary in our ward speak to the congregation, and second, coming home from church to find that Grace had been VERY productive while we were gone, and had created a powerpoint presentation outlining 20 reasons why we should let her get a pet bunny.  Hahahaha.

I'm not sure exactly when this new obsession started, but for the last couple of weeks, Grace has been intermittently hounding me to let her get a bunny for a pet.  I've brushed her off each time, because there's no way I want to add another animal to take care of to this house, but she must REALLY mean business, because not only did her presentation make me laugh out loud on several occasions, but it also has me SERIOUSLY considering taking the plunge into pet ownership.  I bet you didn't see THAT one coming.  Hahahahaha.  Here for your entertainment, are my favorite of her reasons why we should let her get a bunny:

  • Reason Number One
According to google, bunnies from a local shelter are usually around $25.00-$100.00 US.  This is not that expensive and I could pay for it.  {I mean how could you say no to that.}

  • Reason Number Three
Bunnies do not require very much supplies.  All you would need is some food, water, and a cage.  In fact, Mr. Jacobs during the school day, just feeds Bubbles dandelions from outside and old apples.  Considering the fact that our yard is covered in dandelions, I would say that we are good to go.  {Cages range from $10.00-$100.00 on Amazon.}

  • Reason Number Five
Having a bunny would force me to keep my room clean at all times.  I know that you guys would love that considering you always yell at me to keep it clean.

  • Reason Number Six
We have proven to you before that we can take care of another animal. (cough cough Friday) I would say that we are pretty responsible children when we want to be.

  • Reason Number Eight
Having a bunny would make it so that I would have less screens.  Instead of wanting to watch stuff, I would want to play with the bunny.  We all know how much you hate us on screens all day every day.

  • Reason Number Nine
Bunnies are great company, and are good little companions.  I know that if we get one you will fall in love with the adorable little bunny.

  • Reason Number Ten
I have wanted a pet for as long as I can remember.  I would say that this is a pretty good step towards getting a dog.  Bunnies are much more easy to look after.  I've always really wanted a pet.  (You should know that by now.)

  • Reason Number Eleven
We all know how you feel about animals but you can't say that you didn't enjoy watching Friday.  I mean just imagine how amazing a bunny would be.  Animals are wonderful things.  I mean we are animals.

  • Reason Number Twelve
I don't think that dad is allergic to them, and if he is, we can just find one he is not allergic too.  Anyway just like the Deans and their cat, I could just keep the bunny away from dad if he happens to be allergic.

  • Reason Number Thirteen
It is a proven fact that petting a bunny reduces stress, and our household has a lot of stress in it.  A bunny could do wonders for this family.

  • Reason Number Fourteen
You know that one of my love languages is physical touch.  Do you know how soft bunnies are?  My answer.  VERY!  {Yes, that is a real, living bunny.}

  • Reason Number Fifteen
Bunnies are proven to be one of the most quiet pets.  A quiet animal would be great for this family.  I mean, we are already loud enough as it is.

  • Reason Number Eighteen
Mom, Dad wouldn't you want to be a good person and save a poor little bunny, or would you rather live with the guilt of practically killing a bunny.  How would you feel if you were that bunny, and you just died.

  • Reason Number Nineteen
Bunnies last a long time, and so if we got one it wouldn't die for a while, so you wouldn't have to deal with the tears for about 7-10 years.  Half of your children would be out of the house.

  • Reason Number Twenty
I REALLY WANT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!  They are so cute!

Thank You For Your Consideration
{I know you will probably not get me one.}

Hahahahahaha.  I mean seriously -- where did this kid come from???  Haha.  She actually brought up some pretty valid reasons for our consideration, and I think she was shocked out of her mind when I didn't respond with an immediate NO WAY.  Haha.  I told her it was a maybe and that Scott and I needed to talk it over before give her the go ahead to purchase a bunny.   Until we make that final decision, she is already saving up her money and planning on naming the rabbit, Bunnysauce.  :)  Hahahaha.  {AM I CRAZY FOR THINKING OF SAYING YES???}

Love her reasoning! As a pet person (but not a totally crazy one), I do have to say bunnies are pretty awesome. They are quiet, they are usually really easy to litter box train so you can get them out as much as you want, and they are SO soft! My brother had one and he had a great personality--he'd play with our dog and they'd both come running Everytime we made popcorn and beg for some. I say get the girl a bunny!😁

I am not an animal person at all, and I know my kids are going to come to me with this sort of presentation one day and make me feel like a murderer because I really do not want a pet! So let us know what you decide and how it goes if you DO get one because you're pretty much living my future.
