{Jane ended up testing positive for strep throat by Friday afternoon.}
Alex and Jane were essentially home EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. last week and by the end I was pretty much ready to pull my hair out. Especially since I was entrenched in trying to get the entire house cleaned up and presentable by Friday afternoon for our realtor to come and take a look at it because, oh yeah, we're moving. {Sorry to bury that lead.}
{4 hours on Thursday morning were spent on cleaning up and organizing the shelves in the office.}
We found out a little before Thanksgiving that there was a possibility of an amazing new opportunity for Scott at work, and even though the timing of it seemed complicated (because I was pregnant and due around the time that this new role would begin), we were hopeful that he'd be offered the chance and we'd be able to make it work. When I found out a few weeks later that I would be miscarrying, my first thought was, "I bet Scott is going to get this job." Everything just seemed to fit together and make sense. I felt so much peace in knowing that Heavenly Father knew what was in store for us even though we didn't.
A little before Christmas Scott was officially offered the role and at the beginning of January, he officially accepted. As hard and sad as it is to say goodbye to our life HERE, we both felt like this was way too good an opportunity to pass up, and once it was officially offered, I was surprised at how excited I felt at the prospect of starting out on a new adventure. With the kids {mostly} on board as well, we feel really good about this decision and now it's time to get the ball rolling. I gave myself the month of January to just not think about anything regarding the move, but now that it's February it's time to get cracking! Especially since we're aiming to have our house up for sale in 5 weeks. 😱
Grace's "Expectations for the Move" --
* I get a room with vanity * I don't have to talk to anyone that looks annoying * New trampoline/furniture * good sized yard preferably with playset * I get my own room and I never have to share it with anyone * I don't have to become besties with church people if I don't want to.
I'm sure there will be plenty more to talk about in the weeks to come, but in short, I'm outsourcing everything (painting, cleaning, repairing, etc.), we're hoping to get an offer before we go on our House Hunting trip during Spring Break, and I'm going to desperately try and keep my sanity over the next few months. Oh -- and I'm really going to keep my fingers crossed that there will be NO MORE sick kids or snow days. Hahahaha. ;)
{This kid and his terrible sleep habits these days!!!!!!!}
{This little nut job has been waking up in the night almost every night and then ruining things during the day by falling asleep for random naps way too late in the evening to keep bedtime at a decent hour.}
With a whole week of school missed, Alex and Jane had a bunch of work to catch up on over the weekend. Let's just say that homeschooling will NEVER be an option with those two.
Alex and Jane's newest venture -- "The Hangout" (Only Jane, Alex, and Mom and Dad! And Isaac sometimes!)
* Since this is a public blog, I'm understandably not going to be blasting specifics of the details of where we're moving. ;)

Well that little Isaac is fortunate to be allowed in the hangout "sometimes"! Haha!
I'm excited for your move and hope you will keep us posted on every single detail! Good luck selling your house! It looks like a very nice house, and I'm sure it will sell fast.
Ask grace if she has any tips for not talking to people who look annoying. That's on my list as well.
Good luck with the move. I'm excited for you but I know it will be no easy task.
...Never a dull moment.
