The Birthday Girl

My Gracie Lou Who turned 13 years old today!  I'm not quite sure how it's possible that I now have TWO teenagers, but I guess that's just what happens when you're not looking.  Hahahaha.  We didn't have a ton of things planned -- the crashing aftermath of Halloween is real, y'all -- but for Grace's big day, I did give her a couple of token gifts to share my love and then for dinner tonight we went with her requested birthday meal of Panera.  An evening where I don't have to cook is always a win for me.  ;)

 (I made her open her present on the front step because there was literally not a clean backdrop in the entire house for me to take pictures.  True story.)

While at Target yesterday, I found the PERFECT shirts for my Stranger-Things-obsessed/binge-watching child.  She was quite tickled as she took all the tissue paper out and discovered the ringer T with the Stranger crew on front and the sweatshirt paying homage to Eleven.  I'm not sure if she'll ever actually wear them outside of the house, but she was pleased as punch with the idea of them.  Especially since she's finally landed on the Stranger Things cake theme that I suggested a few weeks ago. 

 

We'll be doing a family celebration on Saturday, but for today,  we've kept things low-key yet enjoyable, and I loved it.  I'm so glad we've got our own stranger thing in the family.  Hahahahaha.  ;)

7. I'm pretty sure her life goal is still to have a dog some day

10. When she's an adult, she's already told me that Sophie will be her "Emily" (i.e. MY sister, who I talk to on the phone pretty much every day)
11. She's been super lucky to have a great group of friends everywhere we've ever lived
12. She's the queen of SnapChat streaks (even if I still don't get the point of them)
13. And finally, she can make her ankle creak on demand (it's so creepy)
