Add about a hundred more exclamation points to that title, and you'll start to get a better sense of how excited I am for school to start next week. Hahaha. Seriously, though. Today was the worst. My stress levels have been through the roof this whole week, but today was just magnified ten-fold. Our air conditioner has been busted since Sunday afternoon, and the heat plus humidity in the house and outside has made everyone {
especially me} extra irritable for the past several days. THANK GOODNESS we finally have air again as of this afternoon. It required replacing our whole A/C unit, but I'm so happy to be cool again that I hardly even care.
Everyone's favorite time of year -- school supply shopping!!
As aggravated as
I've been with having all the kids home all day long in varying states of meltdown and sleep deprivation the last couple of weeks, I think the kids are just as ready to get back to school and routine. They might not recognize it, but we ALL function so much better with the structure and routine of the school year.
Long layers with lots of thinning out of that EXTRA thick hair.
Sophie has been talking about getting bangs for her back to school look for WEEKS now. She was quite thrilled with the results.
Just a trim to create a "lob" NOT a bob -- which she was adamantly against.
The sheep has been shorn!
At this point, the school supplies have been purchased, the back-to-school haircuts have been procured, and the first day of school outfits have been picked out for the two kids who care. {
Sophie and Jane}. The only thing left to do at this point, is one more grocery shopping trip to make sure we have food for packing lunches next week, and lots more laundry to make sure there are clean clothes in the house. Monday is Open House at the elementary school for the kids to drop off their supplies and meet their teachers -- with our Back to School Feast scheduled right after -- and Ethan has his Open House on Tuesday night. Next Wednesday morning we'll be back to the school grind! I can't believe the summer is already over!!!
Dab!
Sophie's look for the first day. She went with the silver shoe in case you're wondering.
And I had to represent the sugar baby. That hair though!
{The humidity in the house this week has really highlighted Isaac's curly hair. It's hilarious looking and adorable all at the same time. :) }

Sophie's laid out outfit TOTALLY reminds me of mom!!! So funny!!!
I'm glad you put our minds at ease regarding Sophie's shoe choice! I definitely feel like she made the right choice. 😉
I appreciate all other moms who are honest about how they can't wait for their kids to go back to school. I read so many blogs where moms lament it, and i'm over here wondering if i'm the only one who is going to physically kick my kid out of the car in the school parking lot and then peel out.
Isaac's curls reminded me of Freddie's. oh so sweet. I actually used to dread school starting mostly because of carpool
