Fiber Arts

Best question of the day:  "Mom, can I buy a loom?"  Hahahahaha.  As you can see, Grace has been enjoying her Fiber Arts projects at summer school this year.  She started her hat on the first day of class and just finished today.  Along with the hat, she created the tie-dyed shirt she's wearing and a canvas purse {not pictured} that was decorated with puffy paint.  Now that's some summer school tuition money well-spent!  Hahaha.

As most of you know by now, my fiber art of choice is quilting.  And I was lucky enough to spend a couple hours today with my BFF, Natalie, working on the quilt blocks she started when I dragged her into my quilting bee last year.   :)  Since our time here together is running out -- {our movers get here on Monday to start boxing thinks up} -- she came on over this morning to finish cutting out the pieces for her blocks and started sewing them together.  We weren't able to finish ALL of them, but enough are done that I know she'll be able to do the rest on her own.

Look at her go!

It has been so fun living in the same city and now even the same ward as one of my best friends and old roommates from college.  Even funner is seeing our kids become friends.  Sophie and Jane LOVE Juliana and Giselle.  We are going to miss them when we move!

Next best question of the day:  "Is something wrong with the white balance?  Jane looks like a ghost."  Hahaha.  No, Scott.  Giselle is just a whole lot darker than our little white bean.

Jane and Giselle {Or Si-gelle as Jane always mispronounces it}.

No, seriously.  Check out how ghastly Jane's hands and arms look compared to Giselle's.  Hahaha.

Cute little girlie bugs.

More cute girlie bugs.

Juliana and Sophie.

And finally, I couldn't end this blog post without showing some pictures of the last quilt I will have completed here before we move.   A dear friend of mine just had a baby 4 weeks ago, and I've been trying to get this finished up for her ever since.  I finally finished the binding yesterday, slapped on a label, then washed and dried it for that signature crinkly look.  It turned out really cute, I think!

And that, my friends, is that!  Happy Thursday!
