8 is Great!

Eight years ago today Grace Elizabeth made her grand entrance into the world.  I remember the first time I got a good look at her while she was sleeping in her bassinet in the hospital room.  I just gazed at her in awe and thought, "she's BEAUTIFUL."  She's still beautiful -- inside and out.  She keeps us on our toes and makes us laugh almost in the same breath.  She is funny, creative, resourceful, and tender-hearted.  She loves babies and dogs and writing and art.  She is one special girl.  I'm so thankful she is in our family!

{Fun fact -- that crazed look in her newborn eyes there?  It's the same look we see to this day when she is crying and throwing a fit and has worked herself up into a frenzy.  Kind of funny, huh.}

Cute little Ethan meeting his baby sister for the first time.  He's not much older than Alex here.  (Ethan was 16 months old then and Alex is 14 months old now.)

Going home day.

New little family of 4.

Happy Birthday, Grace!
{Notice how it's 8 in the morning, but her tongue is already stained blue from eating leftover Halloween candy.  We are losing the battle over here.}

 {She really wanted a "North Face" jacket like the one I got Ethan earlier this week from Once Upon a Child.  Ethan has been wanting one since last winter and I finally found a used one for cheap enough to make it worth buying.  Well, Grace lucked out because I went back to OUAC yesterday and found a girl colored one on the cheap due to some pen marks on the front.  Not a problem here!  It will only get more stained and dirty.  Hahaha.  But seriously, aren't they a little young to be label conscious?}

 Cute little Grace with her pretty little face.

 I just love her and her crazy little self.  :)

Love her jacket. That girl is a hoot. And I totally remember her as a baby. In fact I was probably the first person outside of you guys to see/hold her :)
