In my own little family, the tradition has been kind of hit or miss. BUT, this year I couldn't resist the allure of these beautiful little dresses. And as Anne of Green Gables says, "It is ever so much easier to be good if your clothes are fashionable."
I love it when they take it upon themselves to "pose." Hahahaha.
And when they almost strangle their baby sister.
Who doesn't love a good twirl in a pretty dress?
Easter outfits for boys are CLEARLY not as pressing an issue for me seeing as to how Ethan's church clothes aren't even ironed much less CLEAN in these pictures. And Alex has been sporting that look as his go-to church outfit for about three months now. Hahahaha. Oh well. I don't think they care. They probably would have all looked a little better if I had managed to snap the picture before church but that was not to be. Even with an 11 o'clock start time, we still struggle to make it on time!
This is my favorite shot -- Scott had just pulled up in the driveway (we have to take 2 cars to church because he has meetings beforehand) and the little ones were so excited to see him get home.
Little Cinderella kept losing her shoe. Probably because they are technically Sophie's and just a wee bit too big on her.
Scott's comment upon seeing all the pictures I took was that Ethan and Grace look like they're the proud parents of the three little ones in all the shots. Hahahahaha. They kind of do.
This is Ethan's "are we done yet?" face.
I love how Grace and Sophie like to pose like they're BFFs when we all know that is not always the case.
Well, that's all folks. Maybe next year I'll be on top of things enough to have them actually WEAR their Easter outfits on Easter morn itself. Because you know what? Anne Shirley just might be on to something -- the girls were remarkably good during sacrament meeting. Of course, it didn't hurt that we told them they could earn 5 peace points apiece if they would just behave...

I LOVE THAT QUOTE!!! Might need to go somewhere in Pearce's room. hahahaha
And OH MY GOODNESS! those dresses are so dreamy and beautiful. This is a diff style i haven't seen on them before and I am loving it! LOVE the color pallette. and those beautiful soft flowers in their hair.
Little Alex is loosing his baby chub! He is soooo handsome-- look at that little face!!
And I laughed when i heard scott's comment, b/c i was actually thinking something similar when i'd see grace in the background-- i thought she looked like a little lady/mama with that cardigan.
these are your most beautiful photos ever!! hope to see these somewhere on the mantle for my next visit.
and ps i love the size photos in this blog post!! yay for larger photos! now i can see the clearly. ;-P
hahahaha. i did the x-large picture size just for YOU, emily! ahahaha. and that quote TOTALLY needs to go in pearce's room!!! she's the most fashionable little toddler i know -- AND she's just so good! hahahaha. there must be a correlation there.
and i LOVE these dresses, too. the colors are totally just dreamy and old-fashioned looking. i got them all at the gap. it started with sophie's dress -- it's the one i got for her to be her "birthday picture" dress, and then when i decided it could double as her easter dress, i went to find some for grace and jane that would coordinate (enough).
Jess- You're a fab photographer! Love the outfits and the poses! That's talent to get 5 kids to look so good in so many photos! Question- how to do size your photos to be bigger? I use Photobucket, but my vertical images are always way too large. What's your trick?
"how do you size your photos..." sorry, typo error!
such a beautiful family:)
thank you!!! and linds -- i'm a total convert: its ALL about the new blogger. emily finally convinced me to switch over and it is SOOOOOOO much easier to upload pictures. i tried photobucket before switching and it was just a frustrating mess. once i switched to the new blogger, it was easy peasy. i just upload the files and then once they're in the post, i click on them and a bunch of formatting options pop up (size, alignment, etc.) and i just click on the size i want. for this post i did x-large for emily's sake, but i think even just large is a pretty decent size.
this is probably confusing but hopefully it helps out a little bit! :)
Ha! I laughed out loud at the picture of Grace and Sophie hugging each other and thought, "Well, I guess they get along some times!" Classic! And I saw each of your kids on Sunday, but not you (or Alex, obviously). How did that happen??
love these! so great. that quote is awesome - i think i might need to put it above my closet to remind me to actually get dressed everyday. :) and scott is totally right about the big kids looking like the parents... so funny. love the pretty dresses (kinda jealous of all the girls you get to dress up), love the first pic of the girls, and love all those cute kids!
Where did you find their adorable dresses? They are pretty cute too. :)
I meant the kids are pretty cute too...I should really read things twice before I hit send.
hahaha. i know what you mean. i found all their dresses at the gap. i think that grace's is a gap kids size and i think both sophie and jane's were on the baby gap side. do they have US stores like that in germany? or are you able to order things online and have them shipped?
You can have some things shipped, but they don't have gap or banana republic in Germany. I've had to discover new stores like Zara and h&m or have Todd pick things up when he goes to the US.
This is the reason we keeping trying for a girl! The dresses are beautiful. And don't worry I never iron my four boys' church clothes and hope nobody notices! Haha
Love the dresses! And we struggle to be on time to 1 o'clock church...
The shows, the dresses, the PEARLS, the classiness, the flowers, the khakies, the COLORS - ALL SO GORGEOUS. I can't even stand the classiness hahaha See you next weekend! Can't wait to meet Alex. Can I take some portraits of you while I'm there??? (This is me trying to be a better commenter and actually comment on y'alls blogs).
shoes*
muffy!!!! welcome to our blog!!! hahahaha. you most definitely can take some portraits while you're here. i would LOVE to get a full family shot. :) the kids are so excited and can't wait for you to get here.
oh and p.s. the "pearls" were sophie's touch for church. i didn't even notice them til sacrament meeting. hahaha.
If those 3 dresses were made in my size I would be all over them!! They are beautiful. I love the details in each of them. Your kids looks so cute and grown up!
