random things

Here you have it -- our new kitchen table. I, for one, love being able to all sit down to eat at the same time. For those of you who might remember our previous "table and chairs," you can see that this is quite an improvement.

Now that we have four working chairs, maybe we can actually invite people over for dinner!

The last picture is of the lovely surprise I got when
I went to get Ethan out of his room for naptime a few days ago.
Now that he no longer sleeps, he has time for such funner things.

YEA Jessica!!! I know how excited you are to have better chairs and table to sit at. It looks great...maybe you could get a bench to tuck on the back side for extra seating...it would take up less space than 2 more chairs. Wish I could cook you a big pot of gumbo and slurp it down together with you, Scott and the kids!
love ya
mom

I hear you on the table and chairs thing. When we finally got a second hand table with FOUR (non-matching) chairs, the first thing I thought was, "Alright, now we'll really be able to invite people over for dinner!"

I love it! It looks great, I bet it makes you want to redecorate everything! (that's what I always want to do)

I too remember when we got our first "real" table, with matching chairs, "Now I can have people over and not be embarassed" is what I thought.

BEAUTIFUL! It's so fun to get new furnishings. I agree with your mom...a bench on the other side could just tuck right under and take up such a little amount of space. Have fun walking by it and admiring it every day. I bet you will smile each time.

and...boy does that room bring back memories of my leslie. she'd always do such damage during "nap" time.

Jessica- I was so happy when I found you on Jenny's blog. I'm Lara Alder from the uptown branch. So fun to see your kids, family (Emily married.. wow, is that Laura and Amy- my how they have grown! Freddie on a mission), and to catch up. I miss your mama. Lots of us in Dallas- the Petersons, Bastians and Hamiltons are here too. Would love an update on everyone.
