Ladies and gentleman, I'm on a roll!! If I can at least finish up last year's recaps before THIS year is over, I'll call it a major win! Hahaha. Let's get cracking on October of 2024...
- Color Run
Part of me wants to say if you've seen one Color Run you've seen them all, but it wouldn't be fair to Isaac if I decided to stop documenting them just because he's the last kid in a long line of Color Run participants. Lol. They really are lovely, vibrant colors, though, so I guess I don't mind continuing to take pictures of all the action. Hahahaha.
{And now for a brief interlude by Isaac...}
hello guys today we are gonna look at this epik photo dump while I eat captin crunch! isn't the photo dump so lovely 🤤. o no I go to school soon ;-; ;-; ;-; ;-; ;-; ;-; ;-; ;-; ;-; ;-; ;-; ;-; ;-; me sad
BYE!
Isaac!
Gotta get those stretches in before the run!
On your mark, get set...
...GO!
Isaac has more of a walker vibe than a runner.
Final verdict -- he doesn't like color runs because all that colored powder makes it difficult to breathe when you're running past the stations.
- Cello and Piano
For a (very) small window of time, I had a budding cellist (Alex) and pianist (Isaac) on my hands, and believe it or not, a random trip to the music store one day to pick out some sheet music was basically the highlight of their weekend! Hahaha. Alas, Alex's orchestra days were numbered and in the end he just didn't love it enough to continue playing. And while Isaac will still tinker around on the piano from time to time, he is officially resistant to any form of "unofficial" piano lessons from me. Womp womp. Oh well! The dream was lovely while it lasted. Hahaha.
- Homecoming
Alright, I've got nothing here for Homecoming other than these two pics of Jane before she skedaddled off with friends to take pictures and go out to eat and apparently NOT go to the actual Homecoming dance.
Isn't she a cutie?
- Halloween
The highlight of Halloween 2024 was definitely the wig Scott wore for his work trunk-or-treat. Hahahahahahaha. His team dressed up as Despicable Me characters and Scott was Vector. Unfortunately, there were no orange tracksuits available in stores to complete his look, but he managed to make do with a borrowed orange jacket, the afore-mentioned wig, and a pair of fake glasses and a nerf gun. It did the trick. Lol.
This was the wig Before we gave it a trim.
😂😂😂
And here's the wig After. LOL.
The whole team
Zoro
And voila -- we have ourselves a Zoro!
[Costume courtesy of the thrift store and Party City. The thrift store finds included: a green, long-sleeve half-buttoned-down shirt, a red scarf, a lime green shirt that I cut a strip off of and then drew in some darker green stripes, and (my personal fave) a nude-colored camisole I transformed by drawing on some muscles and a long, diagonal scar. Party City came through in the clutch with the green hair spray and some plastic katanas/swords, and in the end, we had a very credible Zoro and one happy camper! (Even if he doesn't look it. Hahahaha.)]
Facial expression and pose courtesy of Isaac wanting to look tuff for all his pictures. Hahaha.
- Miscellany
And it looks like we'll be closing a post once again with some miscellaneous pictures of Isaac. Lol. In this month's installment, he re-discovered a Lego kit that had come in his Easter basket that had never been opened. It was a nice little break from his busy schedule of Roblox and more screen time and the end result was a really cute little tableau of birds in a nest.
