So, apparently nothing really happened last September. Hahaha. Or at least, not much that I have picture documentation for. The following is all that I've got, folks...
- Like a Girl 5K
The one main event of the month was the annual #LikeAGirl 5K attended by Scott, Jane, and Isaac. I'm pretty sure Scott ran the 1K fun run with Isaac, while Jane completed the 5K with one of her BFFs. It seemed like a good time and I've got some pictures to prove it. Hahaha.

The biting-the-medal pose was the go-to option for all parties involved. LOL.

Mugging for the camera.

- Miscellany
And now for the miscellany. I legit laughed out loud after reading through the weekly email update from Isaac's GT teacher and seeing that the second graders are learning to work hard and avoid "accidental arrogance." Hahahahahahaha. The concept of accidental arrogance has since become my Roman Empire. LOL. In a text exchange with Ethan, I shared that nugget of wisdom and we both agreed that accidental arrogance is possibly the calling card of the GT (gifted and talented) population. Hahahaha.
Me: *new favoritest phrase ever
Ethan: That might be mine as well lol...
Me: I think there is an overabundance of Alexander Hamiltons
(aka kids who think they're the smartest in the room) amongst
the GT population -- from childhood to adult lol
Ethan: Truer words have not been spoken
The following text exchange with Alex is a snapshot of a day in the life of {this} junior high kid... (TL;DR -- Alex "lost" his AirPods yet again only to discover that they weren't actually lost at all; they were in the hood of his sweatshirt. Other hijinks ensued throughout the course of that discovery.)
Alex: bruh i lost my right airpods
Me: oof
Alex: some kid decided that it was a good idea to snatch it out of my ear
Alex: cuz i took his landyard
Alex: now it's lost
Me: Why did you do that?
Me: Make him help you look for it
Alex: cuz he snatched mine
Alex: i did
Alex: teachers said we gotta go
Alex: and bus here ...
Me: Then you're going to have to check lost and found tomorrow
Alex: it saturday
Alex: mom idrc
Me: Then Monday
Alex: ok
Alex: it's gonna get swept up mom
Alex: it's fine
Alex: i didn't lose both
Me: They cost a lot of money
Alex: ik
Me: And we won't be replacing them
Alex: ok
Alex: ik
Alex: idk maybe it won't
Alex: idk what to do...
Alex: so
Alex: it says it's with me though
Alex: it was on my hood
Alex: so i found it
Me: Ok
{And scene.}
Okay! Just a few more pictures to go. Enjoy the rest of September 2024...
Isaac was briefly into Diamond Art.
(I told him his OT would be so proud of all the fine motor skills he put to use.)
I briefly revisited my artist era and decided it would be cool to create an ABCs of flowers type primer book. I really enjoyed sketching out a few different pages and amassing tons of Google-image-searched pictures of flowers to represent each letter of the alphabet before ultimately moving on to another hyperfixation. Hahahaha. (Pictured above: Anemone, Bleeding Heart, and Chrysanthemum)
"Isaac's Weird Sleep Poses" struck again...
...and again. Lol.
Until next time!
