A Life Update (Subtitled: "We'll Leave it at That")

So in case you didn't know, my mom's been going through a bit of a post-surgery recovery, and hasn't been able to blog.  It's been kind of rough. Calling her on Friday, she said she could barely watch Disney's Turning Red because it was hurting her from laughing too much. We'll leave it at that. I asked her if I should do a guest blog post – you know, since my posts are always so riveting and stylistically nuanced (as you can see from here and here). My personal favorite line from those posts: "Here is a picture of the Frontier check in." Thank you 9 year old Ethan. Thank you for that.

Anyways, as I'm at BYU right now, I'm gonna attempt to vicariously sum up that last month of action at the "blank" household through google photos. Why the blank household? Mom doesn't like our last name on the internet. Which I mean I don't blame her because there's been some creep-o comments on here. Nothing really that recently, but a few years ago for sure. You know what, we'll just leave it at that. So without further adieu... Let's go from the bottom to the top, shall we?

Isaac:

Our resident kindergartener has continued to live the dream with his Roblox lifestyle. Oh wait, he was actually banned from Roblox for language. We'll leave it at that (wow, it's almost like it's the title or something. Am I over-doing it? Probably. But that's just how I roll).

(Cross eyes – his new-found talent. Also probably his face when he was banned)

Grace took him to some thrift store a few weeks ago, and they found some "fancy" corduroy suit that they just couldn't resist trying on. I'll let the pictures do the justice...

(Upon being questioned, he said quote "this is my rich man outfit." We have absolutely know idea where he gets these lines from)

Alex:

Alex has continued enjoying Fortnite (hopefully he does not get addicted like I was only a few short years ago). Though I don't have any shots of this, I do have this picture...

Really don't know what is happening, other than the fact that someone's hovering over a blue concrete block in Minecraft. Maybe this was Alex? I guess it's a video, so maybe it's some Youtuber Alex was watching? Maybe Isaac? I don't know. All I know is that it was a completely random picture in the google photo thread and felt like it needed some attention.

("I speak for the trees")

There really isn't much insight into Alex's life from the photos, so I guess we'll leave it at that...

Jane

Jane and company have enjoyed walking to the neighborhood park and hanging out on the swings and playground.  In the process, they've met some random kids, and of course these random people are now their friends, because how else would things work for the blank kids (wow, this is difficult not to use our last name. I might be changing my mind about this whole privacy thing – creepos, just go away)

Jane... meet John...

(Not really sure how often they go to the park, but John is one of their friends they've made)

(No context given, no context needed)

Sophie

Sophie and the gang have become full-fledged missionaries. I've been informed that Lyla is gonna convert to the gospel. On the seriousness scale of 1 to 10, I feel like this is probably a 3, but you know, at least it's good to know you're having an impact on someone.

Sophie has also continued to live for all things BTS. I've probably heard the song "Butter" one to many times.

A couple weeks ago, Sophie sent me a video of her meiosis project that she had to do for Biology class. It was actually pretty good, and I almost showed my Bio professor (who is actually a grad student (with 5 kids might I add) but who cares), but then you know life happened. If you want to learn about meiosis, see the video below...

As someone who largely looks at pictures in blog posts (to my mother's disliking), more photos from Sophie's life are listed below... And hey, I do sometimes read the words. It's just hard when you're at college and feel like you have no time on your hands.

Grace

Grace and Christian, Christian and Grace...
(Get yourself a man who gives foot massages)

(and ties your shoes) (update, Grace tells me this is not Christian, but a friend from the ward, Jackson. But the principle still applies)

Anyways, Grace has continued to thrive in her lifestyle from being the local chauffeur for her friends. Has my mom used that phrase before? probably. But it's true, so it probably deserves more use.

(My guess is this was some Home Ec class gone wrong)

(More Wendy's runs. #notsponsored)

Oh, and how can we forget Granny coming to town! She stopped by to help with my Mom's surgery and definitely deserves the super Granny award!
(Perhaps the third "Pink Drink" seen in this post. Shoutout if you can find them all)

Ethan

Now if this isn't pretentious, I'm not sure what is–writing about yourself in your own blog post. I'll just keep it to the basics with a bit of a photo essay...

(My engineering statics project...in case you can't tell, it's a scale that can weigh up to 10 pounds. Riveting)
K so mega awkward I posted this without editing out the last name. It had to be removed before posting to Facebook...

(I've had the opportunity to be an Ordinance Worker in the Provo Temple for the last month or so, and my name tag came in a few weeks ago. I love to be in the Temple!)

K. that's probably enough of me.

The Parents

Not entirely sure how close mom is to being done with her whole post-op recovery. She told me a few days ago that she still has to be on antibiotics for at least another week (I think). Hopefully she'll be back to herself soon. Dad, well, he brings home the bacon I guess. They each probably deserve more than a paragraph, but there's hardly any pictures of them in google photos, so we'll leave it at that.

And I think with that I'm finished. Not gonna lie, this was exhausting. Given my current schedule of guest blog posts, you guys can probably expect to hear from me in July of 2026. I guess I'll talk to you then...
